Procedures & Services
Treatments and therapies we offer that provide quick and lasting relief from pain.
Diagnostic Injections
Diagnostic nerve blocks, also known as diagnostic injections or diagnostic blocks, are injections that numb (block) a specific nerve or group of nerves to help determine the source of a patient’s pain.Â
The injection contains a local anesthetic, such as lidocaine or bupivacaine, that temporarily blocks pain signals from reaching the brain, providing temporary pain relief. The length of time the block lasts depends on the type of block and the anesthetic used.
Personal Injury
A personal injury claim is a case you file to enforce legal rights and gain compensation when you become a victim of an accident or a social wrong.Â
If an individual suffers an on-the-job injury due to negligence or is the subject of defamation of character, that person can file a personal injury claim to ensure legal action is put into motion. Details that go along with a personal injury case help you better understand the process.
Spinal Cord Stimulation
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS), also known as dorsal column stimulation, is a treatment for chronic pain that uses low levels of electrical signals to target specific areas of the spinal cord.
It’s often used when other pain management options, like surgery, have been unsuccessful. SCS can help improve quality of life, sleep, and may reduce the need for pain medication.
Neuro-modulation
Neuromodulation is the alteration of nerve activity through a targeted delivery of a stimulus, such as electrical stimulation to specific neurological sites in the body.
Some ailments may be treated with spinal cord stimulation or peripheral nerve stimulation.
Neuropathy
Neuropathy is a condition that occurs when nerves outside of the brain and spinal cord are damaged, causing pain, numbness, or other symptoms.Â
Nerve damage can be caused by several factors, including disease, infection, injury, medications, or long-term alcohol abuse. In some cases, no cause can be identified. Lifestyle modification, medications and neuromodulation can be used to treat neuropathy.
Peripheral Nerve Stimulation
Peripheral nerve stimulation is a technique in which electrodes are placed along the course of peripheral nerves to control pain.
These devices are an extremely safe, efficient, and effective way to ameliorate a variety of severe neuropathic pain conditions.
Joint/Facet Injections
This is a minimally invasive procedure that involves using a needle to inject medication directly into a joint to treat pain, inflammation, and other conditions.Â
The medication used can be local anesthetic only (numbing medication) or local anesthetic with steroids. The procedure can be used on joints throughout the body, including the knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, elbow, wrist, and small joints of the hands and feet.
Radiofrequency Ablations
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA), also called radiofrequency neurotomy or rhizotomies, uses radio waves to create a current that heats a small area of nerve tissue.Â
The heat destroys that area of the nerve known as myelin, stopping it from sending pain signals to your brain. Most insurance companies will require two sets of diagnostic blocks, 14 days apart, with documentation of improvement in pain relief and of your daily life activities during the diagnostic block.
Trigger Point Injections
TPIs are a nonsurgical pain management treatment that can help relieve myofascial pain in muscles like the neck, shoulders, arms, legs, and lower back.Â
TPIs are effective at inactivating trigger points, which are tender areas of muscle that can feel like knots and are often very sensitive to touch or pressure. Trigger points can develop after acute trauma or repetitive micro-trauma, which can stress muscle fibers and cause them to contract.
Bracing
BracingÂ
maintains joint alignment, promotes stability, and controls movement. It can also be used to aid in healing.Â
You can use a brace to enhance mobility in degenerative diseases like arthritis, improve range of motion, prevent instability, and avoid problems like hyperextension.
All bracing sales are final, no returns.
Epidural Steroid Injections
ESI is a non-surgical procedure (utilizing special needles) where a local anesthetic and steroid is injected into the epidural space around the spinal cord and the nerve roots.Â
The goal is to reduce inflammation around the nerve roots as they exit the spine, which can help relieve pain. ESIs are commonly used to treat lower back pain that radiates to the legs, and neck pain that radiates to the arms. They can also help with spinal stenosis and spinal disc herniation.
Shockwave Therapy aka Storz
SWT is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy acoustic waves to treat soft tissue injuries, such as tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff injuries, and tennis elbow, by reducing pain and promoting healing.Â
The shock waves are thought to break up scar tissue, reduce inflammation, and stimulate tissue healing. ESWT is often used as an alternative to surgery for patients who have not responded to other treatments.
 EMG/NCV Diagnostics
An EMG test
looks at the electrical signals your muscles make when at rest and when used. A nerve conduction velocity (NCV) study measures how fast and how well your body’s electrical signals move along your nerves.
EMG – A healthy muscle should not give off electrical signals when you aren’t moving it. If your muscle is damaged, it may show electrical activity while at rest or activity that is not normal while using it. NCV – A damaged nerve has a slower and weaker signal. This test can help check for nerve damage.
Platelet Rich Plasma
PRP uses a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to aid in the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. In this way, PRP injections use an individual patient’s own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems.
PRP injections are prepared by taking your own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into your injured or diseased body tissue. This releases growth factors that stimulate your body’s ability to heal itself. Ultrasound imaging is used to guide the injection.
